Who we are

Northwest Investigative Services, a DBA of CCIG, is a licensed Washington private investigative agency. Contact: staff@nwisi.com.

Information we collect through this website

• Information you send us. Name, firm, email, telephone, and whatever you include when you introduce your firm by email or telephone. This site has no forms and collects nothing automatically from visitors.
• Server logs. Our host records standard request data including IP address, user agent, and pages requested.
• Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which measures page views and referrers in aggregate. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not track individuals across sites or sessions.
• Cookies. This site sets no advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies of any kind.

How we use it

Information you send us is used to evaluate and respond to your inquiry, document permissible purpose, check conflicts, and — if you engage us — conduct the work.

We also use the contact details you provide — name, firm, email, and telephone — to tell you about our services, rates, and capabilities, and to follow up on an inquiry that did not become an engagement. This is our own marketing to you about our own services. We do not sell, rent, or syndicate your information, and we do not provide it to third parties for their marketing.

You can opt out at any time by replying to any message or writing to staff@nwisi.com, and we will stop and delete your contact details on request. Opting out does not affect our handling of an active matter.

Information collected during an engagement

In the course of an engagement we receive and develop information about clients and about search subjects. This information is handled as confidential work product. It is used only for the engagement, disclosed only to assigned personnel and to the client, and disclosed otherwise only where required by law or valid legal process.

Security

• Matter files are stored encrypted with access limited to assigned personnel
• Sensitive identifiers are collected through a secure channel, not through this website or unencrypted email
• Reports are delivered by secure means
• Vendors and subprocessors are bound by confidentiality obligations

Retention

Contact details — your name, firm, email, and telephone — are retained for as long as we may reasonably market our services to you, and deleted on request. The substance of an inquiry that does not become an engagement, including any case facts or subject information you sent us, is retained for 30 days and then deleted; only the contact details are kept beyond that.

Matter files are retained for 30 days after delivery and then securely destroyed, unless you have arranged extended secure retention with us in writing, or a legal hold or statutory obligation requires otherwise.

This is deliberate. Holding less client data for less time means less of it exists to be subpoenaed, breached, or mishandled — and that exposure would otherwise be yours as much as ours. The trade-off is that you are responsible for retaining your own copies of our reports and supporting files. Download and file them when they are delivered.

Your choices

You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask that it be corrected, or ask that it be deleted, by writing to staff@nwisi.com. We will respond as required by applicable law. Some information cannot be deleted while it is subject to a legal hold, a professional record-keeping obligation, or an active matter.

Search subjects: if you believe we hold information about you and wish to inquire, write to the address above. We will respond consistent with our legal obligations and our duties to clients, which may limit what we can disclose.

Third parties

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which processes data under Cloudflare's terms. The site uses no forms, no third-party form processor, and no advertising or tracking cookies. Email you send us is handled by our email provider.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and will revise the date above accordingly.
